edges of the covers. Paul Wenz (1869-1939) was born in Reims. His father Emile
Wenz was a wool merchant with wool-buying agencies in Melbourne, Sydney and
Perth. In 1892 Paul went on a long tour of the family wool interests. He spent
two years jackarooing in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. Eventually he
managed the wool-buying agencies frequently travelling to Sydney and Melbourne.
From 1900 onwards he published short stories, written in French, set in
Australia. He published his only book in English " Diary of a New
Chum" in 1908 at Melbourne under the pseudonym Paul Warrego. £600.00
